“My passion for photography comes from a true love of people and the desire to make them feel extraordinary”

About me

I first became hooked on photography while styling shoots for a modelling agency at the age of 18. The photographers would let me look through the lens of their cameras to make sure they had captured what I had in mind. I was intrigued to learn how they brought the images to life, how they created different affects, and so I signed up to study photography at the North Oxfordshire College of Art. When my husband was offered a job in America, we relocated to San Francisco where I was offered the opportunity to work with Dennis Anderson, one of the top ten hospitality photographers in the US. I then opened my own studio in California’s Marin County specialising in photographing families. As a mother of two, capturing the milestones of children and their families was of special significance to me and when we relocated back to the UK in 2009 I pursued my interest in photographing babies, children and families.

How I work

We have a lot of fun during a session and it shows in my work. I find that the best pictures are those where the subjects are most at ease, where they are given the freedom to be themselves and to act naturally. I love to shoot in places that are familiar to my subjects - Painswick Beacon and Rococo Gardens for example, but especially in clients’ homes and gardens. We also have our Cheltenham studio to shoot in which gives a lovely stylised finish. Before starting a shoot I will always make sure I understand what it is you want from your pictures and am happy to discuss any styling, location or image ideas that you might have.

Choosing your artwork

Doing a photo shoot is fun – the hard work comes after! It can be daunting trying to choose one or two special images when we shoot, literally, hundreds. I always edit the selection down to the best shots to make it easier for you to make your choice. In relaxed viewing sessions, I can offer advice to help you make your final selection. Anything from what style of frame may work best, to what finishes are available, to where to position your pictures to create the most impact - I use special software where we can photograph your wall showing your chosen image in place. Choosing a piece of artwork is an investment so it’s important to me that you are 100% happy with the final product.
